One way to produce electricity from solar energy is to use concentrated solar power. Solar rays are reflected by mirrors to metal pipes. Water flows through the pipes and by heat absorbed by the tubes water is boiled to steam. The steam drives a turbine producing electricity. Modelling involves optics, heat transfer and boiling rate calculations.
